Climbing is the power to ascend, Elevating the soul with a yearning neck. With hands gripping stones, with feet treading mountains, Footprints bear the weight of life, Each step is a memory, Each step is the future, Something quietly overflows into the heart, You are aware.

Taiwanese often say, “Writing, Feng Shui, Tea; only a few truly understand.” Every tea drinker has their own cosmology when it comes to selecting tea, built upon years of accumulated knowledge and theories about tea. The reception hall of “Taotea,” inspired by the imagery of old tea shops in Taiwan, allows travelers to transition from the spatial experience of early tea shops to the reception desk of a modern hotel. Behind the reception desk, a discreet tea canister installation wall subtly carries the cultural history of tea, folk traditions related to tea, the economic aspects of the tea industry, the seasonal rhythms of tea life, the varieties of Taiwanese tea, the unique craftsmanship of oolong tea, and the aesthetic enjoyment of tea tasting. With each sip of tea, one simultaneously experiences the unique local scenery and their own current state of mind.

Benevolent souls find joy in the mountains, wise minds find joy in the waters, Between the sun and the moon, a blend of literary elegance and martial prowess. In the autumn of 2021, I respectfully offer a poem: “Sun Moon Lake, where sun meets moon, Discussing sun and moon, dreaming in the Red Chamber. Cold mist, emerald green, azure sky, Quiet incense, pure crystal.
